NAGC WOW Wednesdays

August 18, 2009

The National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) is hosting a professional development series on gifted education via the internet on Wednesdays through 2009. And best of all – they are free! For school districts struggling to fund professional development for their teachers this is an absolute must to consider – the timing couldn’t be better. Please forward this link: WOW (Webinars on Wednesdays) to your district curriculum coordinator or Gifted Service Interventional Specialist – let’s see if we can get more classroom teachers involved in identifying, differentiating, addressing underachievement and meeting the needs of our gifted learners! Programs will include:

Classroom Indicators of Giftedness with Mary Slade, James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Virginia

Differentiation Overview with Jennifer Beasley, University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Arkansas

Back to School. Back to Gifted. with Robin Schader, NAGC Parent Resource Advisor

Things Administrators Should Know about Gifted Education with Joyce VanTassel-Baska, College of William & Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia

Pre Assessment: What are the Tools?

Examining the Myths and Truths of Gifted Education

Things Administrators Should Know about Gifted Education with Joyce VanTassel-Baska, College of William & Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia

I understand the Webinars will be available by download for free to NAGC members 48 hours after the live broadcast. And for your reference, annual membership to NAGC is $ 80 for an individual membership, $ 40 for graduate students and $ 25 for parents. The non-member cost to access the webinars after the live broadcast will be $ 24.99 each.
