UC Irvine Extension Announces Free “Gifted and Talented Education Online Mini-Series”

April 28, 2009

During the month of May The University of California, Irvine Extension, will host a free, month long online mini series designed to help teachers, administrators and parents better understand and more effectively support gifted students.

The “Gifted and Talented Education Online Mini-Series” will take place every Wednesday evening in May from 8-9 PST — that hour may not work well for those of us on EST – but please note that even if you can not participate you should still register for the event. Everyone who registers will receive an email with a link to a recording of the session. You can register for all of them or for one or two. Your email confirmation will have instructions to access recording links.

Free online seminars will include:
“How to relate Successfully with Gifted Youngsters” May 6th
“What Differentiation Should Look Like” May 13th
“Building Parent/Teacher Connection” May 20th
“Understanding IQ Testing & Special Programming for Advanced and Gifted Learners” May 27th

This looks like a great resource for gifted education advocates, parents and teachers and I am glad UC Irvine is offering it!
